FIFA has announced the official shortlist of the 23 contenders for The Best FIFA Men's Player 2016, the award the international organism has created to replace the FIFA Balon d'Or, which will still be awarded by the France Football magazine. 50% of the votes used to select the winner of The Best award will come from captains and head coaches of national teams from all over the world, while the remaining 50% of the votes will come from two sources - the decision of 200 sports journalists and an open vote online. The voting process to choose the best players and head coaches in both male and female football worldwide begins on Friday the 4th of November, and will last until the 22nd of the same month. After this process is done, the 3 finalists will be selected, and the winner will be finally announced the 9th of January. Kun has already been selected for the 30-player shortlist for the Balon d'Or, and now joins FIFA's 23-player list of contenders for The Best award.
