Holding the Copa America up high

According to CONMEBOL tradition, a representative of the defending champion is selected to bring the Copa America trophy in the opening ceremonies – and Kun was chosen to present it in the opening match to commemorate the victory of Argentina in the last edition of the tournament, held in Brazil. Along with CONMEBOL president Alejandro Dominguez, Sergio marched with the cup before the start of the match.

Kun also took part of CONMEBOL's campaign for the prevention of heart disease. The cause holds a special significance to the ex Man City striker – he had to retire from professional football after being diagnosed with a coronary condition. To raise awareness towards cardiovascular health, around his neck, Sergio donned a stethoscope to show his commitment towards this cause.
