Kun's first main squad appearance for Barca

Sergio had his debut as part of Barcelona's main squad on their 0-1 defeat against Rayo Vallecano. Kun played the whole 90 minutes, stayed on the offensive, and was part of the best attempts at finding the equalizer.

Falcao was able to score on Barcelona at 36' of the first half, after capitalizing on a mistake in the midfield. The Blaugranas tried to press the attack but Rayo doubled down on the defense and hindered those efforts effectively. Sergio had an opportunity after a pass from Nico saw him go down on the box, but the ref did not find a penalty.

For the second half, Barcelona sought to have more depth in different actions with Sergio as a key actor. Koeman's side was close to set the tie when a penalty was called for Memphis, but the Dutchman was unable to score. In the last few minutes, Sergio managed to send a cross to Gavi but the homegrown midfielder misdirected the shot. Closer to the final whistle, Dest unsettled the defense and sent the ball for Sergio to finish with a header, but it was just off-target and went by close to the post.
