Three major points
Barcelona was able to defeat Dynamo Kyiv 1-0, allowing them to remain in the running for the next phase of the Champions League. Pique was the author of the winning goal at 36', while Kun had a chance to join the fray at 75' until the final whistle.
Sergio had said it himself before the match – a victory was imperative to qualify for the next round. Making several modifications to the team that faced Valencia last weekend, Barcelona marched out to Camp Nou's field with this fact well in mind.
The local team held possession from the get-go, and stifled Dynamo's attempts regularly – though the Blaugrana ensemble had a tough time opening the scoreline. That is, until Gerard Pique received a cross from Jordi Alba that he accurately shot into the net. The 1-0 result was there to stay – and even if Barcelona didn't find any other goals, Dynamo was unable to threaten Ter Stegen's posts even once. Koeman brought Kun in at 75' to an ovation from the crowd, thus debuting for Barca in the Champion's League.
Next up for the team is to face Real Madrid in a reconfigured classic Spanish derby, as they meet in Camp Nou for a Liga encounter.
