“Very grateful for the warm reception”

That is how Kun described his feelings during the press conference staged for the lead up to this Wednesday's encounter with Dynamo Kyiv for the Champion's League. As Barcelona revs up to face the Ukranian team at Camp Nou, Sergio shared his thoughts about the team's present situation and the vital importance of the upcoming game, as it will decide whether Barcelona has a chance to move forward in the tournament.

Some highlighted excerpts:

On the Champions League:

"I'm very happy to rack up minutes in the Champions League. The most important part is that I was comfortable during the last match and our team won. Tomorrow, a win is absolutely necessary – if we can't make it, we're practically out. With the support of our people (which was wonderful in the last game), we'll try to cinch the three points we need."

His reception at Camp Nou:

"I have played against Barca and the stadium is truly imposing. Now that I play here, I enjoy it. The only thing in my mind that day was to win the game. I wasn't expecting that kind of reception from the fans, I'm very grateful. It'll be up to me to return the courtesy."

Goals & scoring:

"Ever since I started playing, I've never considered setting a personal objective for goals. I got used to being the second striker until I got to Manchester City when I finally donned the 9. I set no objective in that sense, I simply want to perform well the whole season, play a lot of games, and win a title. Goals will come on their own. At least in my experience, the more a player thinks about scoring, the less they do. I focus on the team and on winning."

Ansu Fati and the No. 10 jersey:

"When I signed I decided to take the 19. I used it during my time in the national youth team of Argentina. Back then, the 10 was Leo's. Besides, the 10 suits Ansu well. He's come back with ambition, he's young, and with his talent, we're lucky to have him with us. We have to help him in his path for growth. This day and age, it's very tough to stay at the most competitive level, and us veterans are here to support him. Everyone knows he's the type of talent you don't see often."
